Bigotry [Poem]

People are so used to bigotry, sigh!

Maa knocked the door, I let her in
Clumsy room, I like the way it is.
She shouts, why behave like a boy?
I grin within me, a compliment it is.

Tenderness, soft toys all over my place
Hugs, kisses, cuddle, womanliness?
Stuffed pen-stand, blue, black and red
Write, fight, explode, manliness?

Painted walls, leaves, birds and guitar
Signifier, which gender? I wonder still.
People are so used to bigotry, sigh!
What’s scarce is, a room of one’s own.
