Video: Busting Myths Around Sex And Sexuality!

The word 'sex' is still largely considered taboo in India. Educators, parents, and politicians hate bringing up the subject with children.

Are you tired of sex being such a taboo topic? Are you sick of all the myths and misconceptions that follow? Do you want to do away with the stigma surrounding sex and sexuality? We have some serious mythbusting to do!

The word ‘sex’ is still largely considered taboo in India. Educators, parents, and politicians have almost always been averse to bringing up the subject with children. There is a general belief that sex education will produce perverts and encourage sex at a young age (young people are already having sex – get over it!) We are allowing adolescents to have sex in an uninformed, misinformed, and misguided way. How is this harmful?

  1. Students resort to unreliable sources of information like porn
  2. They grow up with a twisted, and often unrealistic, idea of what sex is supposed to be like
  3. They do not learn of concepts such as consent, sexual violence, contraception, or pleasure

We’re here to debunk some misconceptions about sex, since formal education has no intention of doing it for us.

How many of these myths have you heard or believed? Let the mythbusting begin!
