We are seeking an accomplished Senior Entertainment Editor with at least 10 to 18 years of editorial experience and a strong focus on the Mumbai entertainment industry, including Bollywood. The ideal candidate will have extensive editorial leadership experience, deep cultural awareness, and a network within the entertainment sector. In this role, you will oversee high-quality editorial content, manage a team of writers, and be responsible for conducting exclusive celebrity interviews, covering industry events, and driving audience engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Editorial Leadership: Lead a team of writers and editors in producing high-quality content on Bollywood, film, television, music, celebrity culture, and entertainment events.
- Content Strategy: Shape the editorial vision and strategy for Bollywood and general entertainment coverage, ensuring content is fresh, relevant, and in line with current trends.
- Celebrity Interviews: Take a hands-on approach in conducting exclusive celebrity interviews, including A-list Bollywood actors, directors, producers, and other industry influencers.
- Industry Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of Bollywood, celebrity culture, and the Mumbai entertainment scene to ensure the publication’s coverage is insightful, timely, and highly relevant to our audience.
- Event Coverage: Lead coverage of key Bollywood events such as film premieres, music launches, award shows, and other industry happenings. Attend red carpet events, press conferences, and exclusive media briefings.
- Team Development & Management: Mentor, supervise, and guide the editorial team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and productivity. Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining high editorial standards.
- Audience Engagement: Use your understanding of entertainment trends and audience preferences to craft compelling content that drives engagement and loyalty.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with social media, marketing, and video production teams to amplify content reach and integrate multimedia storytelling.
- SEO & Traffic Growth: Ensure content is optimized for SEO to increase visibility and maximize audience reach.
- Networking & Industry Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with Bollywood talent, producers, PR agencies, and key industry stakeholders to secure exclusive interviews and media access.
- Content Performance Analysis: Regularly assess content performance through data analytics to optimize content strategies and growth.
Requirements:
- 10 to 18 years of editorial experience in the entertainment industry, with a strong focus on Bollywood and Mumbai’s entertainment landscape.
- Proven experience conducting celebrity interviews, ideally with high-profile Bollywood talent.
- Deep knowledge of Bollywood films, actors, directors, and trends in Mumbai’s entertainment industry.
- Strong network and established relationships within the Bollywood and broader entertainment community.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills with a keen ability to craft engaging stories.
- Ability to lead a team effectively, with proven experience managing editorial workflows and inspiring creativity.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and content optimization strategies.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and digital media tools.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining editorial excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media, or a related field (preferred).
- A passion for entertainment, storytelling, and a deep understanding of pop culture and Bollywood.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with multimedia content creation (video, podcasts, etc.).
- Established media contacts in the Bollywood industry and access to exclusive events.
- Experience managing social media strategies and leveraging platforms for content amplification.
- Fluency in both Hindi and English (preferred).
