Abhishek Arya is a PhD Scholar in the Department of History at the University of Hyderabad. He holds a Master’s degree from the Centre for Historical Studies (CHS), Jawaharlal Nehru University. His research engages with South Asian Legal History, with particular focus on punishment, prisons, and the relationship between law and the public in colonial Bundelkhand. His work seeks to explore the intersections of law, society, and power within the colonial context. Beyond his academic pursuits, he is interested in photography, films, music, and sketches, which inform and enrich his perspective on history and everyday life.
