Such strong words, love this article. I feel ashamed of being a man in such a society. Would love to put my foot down and do something where we live in harmony as male and female and not anything else. Animals are so much more respectful and mature than us.
I remember when I was a teenager and just starting to wear a bra. The first time someone told me my bra strap was showing and to pull it in because it is obscene was my own mother. She also told me not to bend over when near men. or to put my underwear to dry on the lines that are visible from the street.( My dad’s were prominently displayed there, though.) And so on..
One day I was traveling by bus with my older cousin and a lady came up to her and told her bra strap was showing. My cousin boldly replied- “It’s new. I’m showing it off.”
That changed my life.
It happens everytime and not aunties only there are some girls of our age who found it shameful And they can’t even say it aloud and clear That the bra strap is showing instead of it they use code word like ‘hey !your tubelight is on ‘
