Did you know that nearly 40 million people worldwide are victims of human trafficking? Today on the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we take a look at human trafficking worldwide and in India. Why are so many people still in the clutches of human trafficking? And why is it akin to modern-day slavery?

Human trafficking or trafficking in persons, although a serious crime, remains a lucrative industry, and also one of the largest international crime industries in the world. Even a global pandemic has not been able to put a stop to trafficking in persons. So we must ask ourselves if reports, laws, international resolutions year after year done nothing to end human trafficking?
