Website The YP Foundation
About The YP Foundation:
The YP Foundation is youth-run and -led organisation that works from an intersectional, feminist, and rights-based lens to empower young people to access and use information about their health, education, and rights to lead their own development. Our aim is for young people to internalise and engage with social justice and social change processes and for them to be recognised as equal stakeholders and change makers within communities and society at large.
TYPF’s Safe Abortion For Everyone (SAFE) programme aims to use a multi-pronged approach to create an enabling environment for safe abortion through evidence generation and youth-led advocacy.
About the Fellowship:
The fellowship programme aims to understand the narrative around abortion stigma in India, how it manifests, and how it can be tackled. The programme includes capacity building for fellows through e-learning courses (on abortion discourse as well as advocacy skills), mentorship via subject experts and support to execute their projects. Once they are acquainted with the basics of abortion advocacy, fellows will be expected to create 2 youth-led, evidence-based action reports to map the youth friendliness of abortion services in local healthcare centres in India.
