For April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Feminism In India along with Punjabi Wikimedians co-organised a Wikipedia Editathon on ‘Sexual Assault Awareness Month’ to increase the representation of Indian NGO's working on child sexual abuse, sexual and domestic violence on Wikipedia as well as to teach a new skill of creating and editing articles on Wikipedia to the youth.
The fourth Mumbai Feminists meet-up was held on the 10th of January at the Hive in Khar. A performance by The Zehen Collective, as part of the ‘Pride’ events was the centerpiece of the event. The show was called ‘Main Yeh Bhi Hoon’ Monologues - discussions of coming out.
On occasion of Human Rights Day, the FII Team held a Wikipedia editathon writing and expanding pages of women human rights defenders.
We were touched by the hospitality extended to us by DDUC and we hope our workshop on combatting online harassment helped sensitise students.
This month, we got together with Punjabi Wikimedians at our New Delhi office to co-host a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon on Online Social Movements. The edit-a-thon was aimed at creating/editing Wikipedia pages of online social movements in India across issues of caste, gender, sexuality among others who lack representation on the platform currently.
FII collaborated with Gaylaxy Magazine and India HIV/AIDS Alliance and co-organised a Wikipedia Editathon on ‘Trans* Rights Activists and Personalities of South Asia’ for April 2018.
Since September 28 is globally celebrated as International Safe Abortion Day, FII and Asia Safe Abortion Partnership (ASAP) joined hands to organise a Wikipedia Editathon
On 17th September, Asmita Ghosh gave a seminar on the #GBVinMedia toolkit to postgraduate students of journalism at the University of Madras.
On 1 August 2018, FII launched its #CampusSJC list – a crowdsourced list of social justice collectives across India.
Since the Asian Games 2018 is ongoing, FII dedicated August 2018's Wikipedia Editathon to Indian Women Athletes.
