We are pleased to announce that Feminism in India (FII) has been selected for the second cohort of the Google News Initiative (GNI) Startups Lab, a 12-week catalyst program created in collaboration with Anymind Group and T-hub. The program aims to help the next generation independent Indian early stage news startups achieve financial and operational sustainability.
Chosen out of over 110 applicants from across India, FII is one of the ten news startups cover an array of types of journalism, including investigative, political, gender, medical, youth, climate, and local news organizations that give a voice to underrepresented communities. The diverse cohort features newsrooms from around the country, producing news in languages including English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu.
As part of the program, FII will work on revving up its business model to achieve financial stability for the organisation as well as ad revenue in partnership with the Anymind Group. We’re also working on new audience engagement strategies and will have exciting content in store for you. Stay tuned!
